The name of our foundation reflects our mission: we are called Fair Recycling for good reason. From the very beginning, it was clear that fairness and equal opportunity had to be key elements of our project. By improving working conditions, creating sustainable jobs, and building local expertise, we also generate social impact that contributes significantly to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
By replacing old refrigerators containing CFCs and HFCs, we not only make a meaningful contribution to environmental protection but also create social value within the local community. Both aspects have a positive impact on the achievement of the global Sustainability Goals, known as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These goals, developed under the 2030 Agenda, address the most pressing environmental, social, and economic challenges of our time. Switzerland was also actively involved in their development and formally endorsed them.
We believe that sustainable development can only be achieved by addressing environmental, economic and social goals simultaneously.
The following Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are covered by Fair Recycling through its climate protection project and support for training in the field of recycling. Simply click on one of the tiles to find out more.
Fair Recycling supports the training programme run by the Inclusive Waste Recycling Consortium (iWrc) in Brazil. This programme enables further training in the informal sector via WhatsApp. Annual training courses for employees are part of the corporate culture at our partner Inúdstria Fox.
Women have the same opportunities as men. In contrast to the heavily male-dominated recycling business in Brazil, women make up around a third of the workforce at Indústria Fox.
At our local partner Indústria Fox, employees enjoy fair working conditions. These jobs contribute to local economic growth.
Our commitment is significantly improving the living and working conditions of women in particular who work for our partner Indústria Fox.
Our climate protection project promotes the efficient use of resources, minimises their consumption, encourages the reuse of recyclable materials and reduces environmental pollution through professional recycling.
